Rick Tocchet's group have had a fair tough road trip to say the least with three losses to start things off before shutting out the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Saturday night.
Vancouver will continue their trip tomorrow night with a stop in Winnipeg for an all-Canadian clash with the Jets and it looks like a big piece of their blue line is set to return from injury.
In a post on X this morning, the Vancouver Canucks shared that Czech defenseman Filip Hronek will be meeting up with the team in Winnipeg ahead of tomorrow's game after spending five days conditioning with Abbotsford.
Hronek, 27, has been on the sidelines since the end of November after suffering both upper and lower body injuries, the latter of which required a procedure and the team announced an eight-week timeline for his recovery.
Over the last couple of weeks, Hronek has recovered to the point where he was able to get back on the ice skating well ahead of schedule, which allowed Patrik Allvin to assign him to the AHL to work on his conditioning in anticipation of a return to game action in with Vancouver.
In 21 games this season with the Canucks, the Hradec Kralove native has put up nine points (one goal, eight assists), 18 penalty minutes and is a plus-14.
We'll have to wait and see if Filip Hronek does make his return tomorrow when Rick Tocchet speaks with reporters on Tuesday, but if he does, it's safe to say he'll slot right beside Quinn Hughes on the top pairing.
Puck drop for tomorrow night's game against the Winnipeg Jets is set for 5 pm PT and can be watched on Sportsnet Pacific in the Vancouver region.
