Vancouver Canucks' J.T. Miller dodges questions about his upper body injury
Vancouver Canucks' centerman J.T. Miller speaks on his injury and why he was seen going down the tunnel early in the game Vs the Philadelphia Flyers.
As fans have noticed, Vancouver Canucks superstar J.T. Miller only took the opening faceoff and one other the whole game against the Philadelphia Flyers as he seemed to have injured his upper body.
Miller went down the Canucks tunnel only 5 seconds into the game as he appeared to be holding his shoulder after taking part in a seemingly normal faceoff. To everyone's concern, he did end up returning and finishing the game, but his own comments, and head coach Rich Tocchet's after the match could be viewed as concerning.
Canucks center JT Miller took 2 face-offs tonight vs. Flyers, one after the opening drop. Rick Tocchet: "He's dealing with some stuff. We'll figure it out over the next couple days but we didn't want him to take draws." Said he's hopeful Miller can play Tuesday vs. Chicago.
I expect it, but you never know, we will see how he is. He will need a couple of days off to rest it and see where it goes.
J.T. Miller responds to injury concerns
When asked about why he rushed down the tunnel while seemingly being in pain from the opening night faceoff, he brushed it off and gave a little white lie instead of telling the media exactly what is gong on.
Asked J.T. Miller why he briefly went to dressing room after the opening faceoff (and didn't take any more draws for Canucks).
Miller: «I forgot my mouth guard for one shift.»
It is clear the Miller did not lose his mouthpiece, he just did not want to indulge on the rumors of being injured. Now, with his comments in combination with Rick Tocchet's, he clearly is dealing with pain and we here at Canucks Daily would not be surprised to see him sit on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
