The Vancouver Canucks have been without arguably their best forward since JT Miller's leave of absence was announced on November 19.

The team has been able to keep their heads above water during Miller's absence, posting a 4-2-1 record since he left the team, but according to head coach Rick Tocchet they won't have to be without him for much longer.

Vancouver play by play announcer Brendan Batchelor says that the Canucks bench boss "has a plan" for Miller's return and he's back to skating.

What that plan is remains unclear, but it's been reported that JT Miller is back skating, and there's a chance he could play as soon as tomorrow night against Columbus - however given Tocchet's comments, that doesn't seem likely.

The Canucks have a long homestand ahead and can choose to ease him into the lineup at Rogers Arena whenever they see fit over the next two weeks.

So far this season, Miller has 16 points in 17 games - he's coming off of a career best 103 points in 2023-24.

Vancouver Canucks shutdown trade rumours with J.T. Miller

During Miller's absence, trade rumours have inevitably surfaced surrounding the star forward, which President Jim Rutherford has referred to as "disrespectful".

Teams including the New York Rangers, who drafted JT Miller, have been said to call regarding the star forward - but the Canucks have made it no secret, they're not trading the player.
