After a slow start to the season for newcomer Jake DeBrusk, he recently has really found his game and is currently on of the hottest goal stretches in the entire NHL.
When the Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin signed DeBrusk to a seven-year contract worth $5.5 million USD per season, it was the expectation that he would take a big step in his career.
With the slow start, many believed that the signing was a big overpayment, that he would ever live up to it. But, as it stands, he is exceeding all expectations.
According to Sportsnet, DeBrusk now has 16 goals in 26 games since November 2nd, which is tied for the NHL lead over that span.
With his goal last night against the Seattle Kraken, it marks 13 goals in his last 17, putting DeBrusk on what of the best goal stretches of the NHL season.
In 35 games this season apart of the Canucks, DeBrusk now has 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points, which is incredible to say the last after just recording 4 assists in the first 9 games of the season.
