BREAKING | Official Statement from the Colorado Avalanches confirming the worst days before the playoffs
The defending Stanley Cup champions are once again dominating the Western Conference just days prior to the 2023 Playoffs debut. However, they have just been dealt a tough hand.
After they won it all last year, their captain, Gabriel Landeskog underwent knee surgery. While he was expected to make it back to the ice at some point, the Avs just released a statement confirming that he wouldn't be playing in the upcoming playoffs:
''Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will not play in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs due to a knee injury, the organization announced this afternoon. The 30-year-old forward has missed the entire 2022-23 regular season.''
The captain played a major part in last year's cup run as he managed 22 points in 20 games, it certainly comes off as a piece of terrible news for the Avs to lose this big of a piece.
