Juice there it is.
Tonight we watched what would easily be called the best night of the year at Roger's Arena.
Kevin Bieksa's #3 was raised to the 'Ring of Honour' before he was gifted a plaque including the actual stanchion that he got the assist from in Game 5. It had a photo of Bieksa post goal, the stanchion backlit with a red light & an 'on demand' replay of the call of the goal, it was very, very cool.
We celebrated a legend. We saw Daniel in the flesh (where was Hank?!). We saw all kinds of awesome footage of a doggo wearing a Bieksa jersey.
Hell. We won a hockey game.
It'd be hard to imagine that doesn't have SOMETHING to do with Kevin Bieksa Night at the Rog'.
That pregame speech was something else.
Then he came out in full uniform. Ready to suit up for 24 minutes if you ask me, but I digress.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Had anyone , in history, won a ceremonial faceoff more aggressively? Snapped it right back into his own zone. 😂
This was a magical evening.
At worst. I mean bottom barrel, we got to revisit an era of success, albeit not ALL THE WAY. We need somewhere to start, somewhere to restart.
If this team can take whatever it is that Grimsby's finest carries on him all day, and spread that around the locker room, this team will be just fine.
