Now Leading the NHL in goals: Bo Horvat
Team Captain Bo Horvat has been outstanding through the first 20 games this season. He scored his 16th goal on a deflection against the AV's and he's now tied at no.1 for the league's top scoring alongside Connor McDavid and Jason Robertson.
Horvat is playing on the last season of a 5.5 million contract and after the season's 1st quarter he's proved his worth. The two-way centerman had a career-high 31 goals last season and he's already scored half.
The 28-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent by the end of the 2023 campaign, it'll be really interesting to see which way the Canucks management opts for. The team hasn't exceeded expectations since they're out of the playoff portrait at this point. The Canucks do not have the money at this point to sign Horvat up to his value unless he takes a salary cut to remain in Vancouver. The Canucks might have to consider moving the NHL's top scorer when comes the trade deadline.
