Today, on November 5th 2022, we're in luck. Topical, relevant luck even.
1 short year ago, at the very same locale we will watch the Canucks battle tonight, they took on a very similar Predators team to the one they line up against tonight.
That game didn't go the Canucks way, with a late 2nd period goal from Philip Tomasino vaulting the Preds into a 3-2 lead that they would ride to the finish line.
The losing goaltender that night, Thatcher Demko, is expected to be back in between the pipes tonight after leaving practice time first this morning. Other expected lineup moves include Brock Boeser & Travis Dermott missing action tonight, while even a fresh new haircut couldn't prevent the apparent healthy scratching of Vasily Podkolzin, who has struggled a little to find consistency of late.
It's expected that both Boeser & Dermott could be back as early as next week when the Canucks head out on a 5 game Atlantic Roadie starting Tuesday in Ottawa. The 'Nucks will continue on to 3 Original Six cities before stepping into a rematch with the same Sabres who waxed them just last week.
Tonight marks another battle of under .500 teams as the 4-6-1 Preds are ripe for the taking, but the 3-6-2 Canucks will have to bring their best defensive game to hold off Ryan Johansen and company.
It's a good day for revenge, the Orca is on the hunt & the predator is about to become the prey. Let's see if they can get it done.
