Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas is going all in this year. After acquiring St. Louis Blues star Ryan O'Reilly, today, Dubas made a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
"Today the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Jake McCabe, Sam Lafferty, a conditional 5th round pick in 2024 and a conditional 5th round pick in 2025 from Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a conditional 2025 1st round pick, 2026 2nd round pick, Joey Anderson and Pavel Gogolev." Lafferty has one year remaining on his current contract that pays him $1,150,000 annually. In 51 games Lafferty has 10 goals and 11 assists, he is 27 years old.
McCabe has two years remaining on his current contract that pays him $4,000,000 annually. The 29-year-old has two goals and 18 assists in 55 games this season.
This trade helps benefit the Vancouver Canucks raising Luke Schenn's trade value, the closer we get to Friday's NHL trade deadline.
