TRADE ALERT | Sean Monahan is getting traded to a Western Conference Team
Viewed as one of the top options on the trade market with one of the lowest cap hits, the Habs have finally chosen who they'd be sending Sean Monahan to.
WESTERN CONFÉRENCE LOADING UP ON TALENT
The Jets will be on the receiving end of this deal, first reported by Pierre Lebrun. The details have not yet been made public. Following the Elias Lindholm deal, Monahan became the hottest commodity for teams looking to add a centerman:
'Still not finalized, still details to be worked out, but all indications are that the Montreal Canadiens are trading Sean Monahan to the Winnipeg Jets''
The Flames paid a 1st Round Pick not too long ago to send Monahan elsewhere. The Habs then re-signed the veteran to a one-year deal worth $1.985M, and they're about to fetch a hefty return.
The 29-year-old collected 35 points in 49 games thus far this season.
