Former Canuck Sam Lafferty surprises and inks $4M contract
After seeing his rights traded last week by the Canucks, Sam Lafferty has found a new home for the next couple of seasons.
Instead of signing with the team that acquired his rights - Chicago, Lafferty has agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $4 million ($2 million AAV) with the Buffalo Sabres, according to PuckPedia.

Lafferty, 29, was traded to the Vancouver Canucks by the Toronto Maple Leafs ahead of the 2023-24 season and had the best year of his National Hockey League career with the British Columbia club.
In 79 games, Lafferty had 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists), 32 penalty minutes and was a plus-four. He went on to appear in 11 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but failed to register any points and had two penalty minutes.
