MUST SEE | Two former Canucks getting in on the action during Panthers preseason game
The preseason is underway across the National Hockey League and we're getting out first look at some former Vancouver Canucks with their new teams.
On Monday afternoon, the Florida Panthers played their first of two games on the day against the Nashville Predators and in the lineup for 'The Cats' was Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Will Lockwood.
During the first period, both Ekman-Larsson and Lockwood found themselves in the highlights, for good reason.
Will Lockwood opened the scoring for the Panthers. On the powerplay nearly six minutes in, Lockwood was in front of Predators goaltender Kevin Lankinen and tipped the puck in, giving Florida a 1-0 lead.
Then just over a minute later, Oliver Ekman-Larsson launched an incredible pass from his own up, up through the middle which sprung Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen on a breakaway. Luostarinen fired the puck blocker-side on Lankinen.
Although it's just a preseason game, it's nice to see these two former Vancouver Canucks succeeding with with their new organization and it'll be interesting to see how much they'll contribute to the Panthers throughout the 2023-24 season.
