According to ESPN's Kevin Weekes, Tyler Toffoli will be returning to California and will be signing with the San Jose Sharks, who are looking to make a big push forward in their rebuild after drafting Macklin Celebrini.
Toffoli, 32, began the 2023-24 campaign with the New Jersey Devils after being dealt there by the Calgary Flames one day before the NHL Entry Draft last summer. But just over eight months later, Toffoli found himself back in Canada following a trade to the Winnipeg Jets. In 79 games between the Devils and Jets, Toffoli had 55 points (33 goals, 22 assists), 14 penalty minutes and was a minus-six. The Scarborough, Ontario native added two goals in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.
During the 2019-20 season, Toffoli appeared in 17 games for the Canucks between the regular season and playoffs where he had 14 points (eight goals, six assists) and 16 penalty minutes.
