MAJOR | Leafs forward William Nylander officially submits no-trade list
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander has officially submitted his ten-team no-trade list to the organization, as was expected on July 1st.
Johnston went on to add that the Maple Leafs and Nylander's camp continue discuss an extension, which is eligible to be signed this afternoon. But reports have indicated that both sides are far apart and it's unclear if they'll come to an agreement or if Nylander will get traded.
"William Nylander has submitted his 10-team no-trade list to the #leafs. That officially takes effect today. Talks on a contract extension continue." Johnston said.
Nylander, 27, appeared in all 82 regular season games for the Maple Leafs, setting a new career-high in goals, assists and points. He put up 87 points (40 goals, 47 assists), 28 penalty minutes and was a plus-ten and added ten points in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
