1-5 Predators feeling the loss of new Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood
While it looks like the Nashville Predators will exit Tuesday night with their first win of the season, they entered the game against the Bruins as the only pointless team remaining in the NHL, and one of only two without a win.
That's not the start a team who spent over $100 million on the first day of free agency was hoping for, and while they added a fair amount of high end talent, one podcaster thinks they are sorely missing a player who left them for the Vancouver Canucks.
Kiefer Sherwood had a breakout campaign with the Nashville Predators last season, but it wasn't enough to bring him back as he eventually walked to Vancouver for just two years at $1.5 million per season.
On Tuesday's episode of Spittin Chiclets, Paul Bissonnette said while the Predators added some big names, they are desperately missing a hard working, physical player like Sherwood.
Maybe he doesn't jump out on the scoresheet as much... but the way that he plays, I think he's leading the league in hits right now... I just felt like he was a good agitator to have around to spark the team, and I think they're missing a guy like that.
Even with the massive additions of Stamkos, Marchessault and Skjei, the Predators could have easily snuck in a contract for Kiefer Sherwood at or around what he earns in Vancouver.
Whatever led to the decision to let him walk, the Canucks are more than happy it happened.
