"1-2 Weeks" - NHL Insider reveals date for Dakota Joshua's long-awaited season debut with the Canucks
After Dakota Joshua was seen skating and practicing with his Vancouver Canuck teammates for the first since recovering from cancer surgery, NHL Insider Frank Seravalli released when fans can expect him back in the lineup for his season debut.
After a break out year that made Joshua a fan favorite among Canucks spectators, it ultimately earned him a four-year, $13 million contract extension this past June, but that excitement soon faded.
Joshua received awful news over the summer that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and would need surgery to have the lump removed. The procedure went with out any hiccups and he just returned to skating with the team.
«This summer, I felt a lump on one of my testicles that doctors would later diagnose as testicular cancer.,» said Joshua in a statement shared by the Canucks on Sept. 17. «This news was obviously scary to hear, but thankfully, doctors were able to successfully remove the tumor. The last several weeks have been extremely challenging and l've been fortunate to have the support of my family, friends, teammates, and doctors.»

As stated above, Joshua participated in his first practice this week, although in a non-contact jersey, The Athletic's Thomas Drance reported that Joshua would be doing the same this evening (October 22nd) and will «begin to take a few 'bumps'» during practice on Tuesday ahead of the team's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
