LATEST | Insider sheds light on Ilya Mikheyev's departure from camp
I was surprised when it was announced earlier that Ilya Mikheyev had left the team's training camp, especially after his history of injury and that he hasn't played in a while.
FINALLY SOME POSITIVE UPDATE ON MIKHEYEV
The Canucks had an exciting update on Mikhyev's health yesterday via Thomas Drance, and that's why his departure caused this big of a stir. Allvin updated and said that even though he wouldn't be a full participant just yet, his rehab had gone exceptionally well, and it wouldn't be long until he'd be back at 100%:
"He's done a tremendous job in his rehab this season. He's going to start skating in a non-contact jersey with the C group (at camp),"
Rick Dhaliwal spoke to his agent, Dan Milstein, earlier today and revealed that Mikheyev's departure was family-related and that he was fine:
We hope to have a full 82 games worth of Mikheyev this season. The speedy winger was a threat alongside Kuzmenko and Pettersson but also highly useful on the penalty kill. Hopefully, he's back before we know it and gets into the training camp temp before the season's kick-off.
