Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander has had a great start to his 2023-24 season.

In 19 games so far, the 22-year-old has managed to put up ten points (seven goals, three assists), along with 23 penalty minutes and is a plus-ten.

His underlying numbers are starting to catch the attention of many, as Hoglander leads the entire National Hockey League in goals per 60 minutes at 2.21.

"Nils Höglander leads the entire NHL in goals/60 at 2.21 (min. 100 5v5 TOI). DeBrincat and Bedard are 2nd & 3rd.

Top 10 in points/60 at 3.15. Leads the #Canucks in points/60.

Not too shabby for a guy who averages only 10:01 of 5v5 TOI per game." Grady Sas said.

As Grady Sas points out, it's pretty remarkable to see what Nils Hoglander is doing so far this season with the limited ice time he's given. But he continues to prove himself night in, night out to Rick Tocchet and the coaching staff. It'll only be a matter of time before Hoglander is given more ice time and more responsibility, if his strong play continues.
