LATEST | Rick Tocchet makes bold comments regarding Nils Hoglander
The Canucks' 2019 Second Round Pick Nils Hoglander has been having a stellar season debut and many people have been complaining for his lack of opportunity. The more ice-time he's been getting, the more he's been given and the team's head coach has been taking notice.
HOGLANDER ABOUT TO GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE HIMSELF
Tocchet knows how Hoglander has improved since last season and his numbers are strong showings of his efforts. Through 21 outings, Hoglander managed seven goals and ten points while playing bottom six minutes and little to no power play time.
The Canucks' bench boss was on Donnie and Dhali earlier today and spoke about the impacts of Hoglander's development:
"I got to try and get him out there a little bit more.."
@Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet on Nils Hoglander's play and what he needs to do to move up in the lineup.
AHL STINT NOW PAYING OFF?
Hoglander was sent down for almost half of last season and it appears that his time under Jeremy Colliton paid off. Hoglander came out strong during the team's training camp and he's been better by the day.
It was revealed that the Canucks had been contemplating the idea of going out on the market to acquire a top scoring winger, perhaps the solution lays in their own pipeline?
