The Vancouver Canucks are very lucky to have some great coaches both on the bench and behind the scenes that bring a wealth of NHL experience that they can pass on to the players.
Among those are Daniel and Henrik Sedin, who are set to see their roles with the organization increase next season and will even work with the Canucks' powerplay units throughout the year.
In a recent interview in Sweden, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin was asked for his thoughts on the the Sedins' future with the organization and said that'll be up to them and their families.
He added that it was important to keep them around because they've helped implement a certain culture and standard for the organization and they want to see the younger players have success.
The Sedin twins retired from professional hockey at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season and after taking a few years away from the game, returned in 2021-22 as Special Assistants to the General Manager. In the years since, they've seen their roles expand to Development Coach and as mentioned, will now be more involved day-to-day starting next season.
It'll be interesting to see if one day the Sedins decide that they want to be behind the bench as assistant coaches one day and if so, it would be great to see them in that role for the Vancouver Canucks.
