Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet is known for his fiery nature and direct approach while coaching, and this was clearly on full display when he was caught on a hilarious hot mic insulting a referee.
Coming into tonight's matchup against the newly acquired Mikko Rantanen and the powerhouse Dallas Stars, it is obvious that it was going to be an up hill battle in order to try and get the best of them, which unfortunately became reality.
In a game that saw the Canucks not able to get anything going, the Dallas Stars won 4-1, breaking Vancouver's two-game win streak.
Rick Tocchet Caught on Hot Mic Insulting NHL Referee
While there was not too much to smile at when the Canucks lose 4-1, some fans were able to find some solace in the fact that their coach still has the passion and fire to stick up for his team.
During the game, Tocchet was enraged at an official for making a terrible call and followed suit with a hilarious chirp that was caught by the cameras.
He told the official that he was basically terrible at his job and there is a reason why he does not officiate more important game during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

There has been some criticism surrounding Rick Tocchet's lack of answers and transparency when it comes to addressing the media, the same goes for his decisions during games.
But one thing that people can't dispute is his passion for the game and winning, and that was showcased tonight even in a blowout.
