Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood makes return to Nashville Predators personal with strong comments about former team
Vancouver Canucks power forward Kiefer Sherwood has some extra motivation heading into tonight's matchup, as they face off against his former team, the Nashville Predators.
As the Vancouver Canucks are set to play a back to back for the first time this season, it is clear that Kiefer Sherwood has a chip on his shoulder.
This will be the first time that Sherwood will be playing against the Preds since he signed a 2-year contract with the Canucks.
Now with 100 hits on the season and leading the entire NHL, Sherwood's comments ahead of the reuniting shows that this game is personal and wants to show the Predators they made a major mistake not re-signing him this offseason.

Shortly after the Vancouver Canucks put a beatdown on Conor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks, the power forward Sherwood was asked what it will be like playing against the Nashville Predators for the first time, and he did not hold back.
"Once that puck drops, it's business. Obviously, I'm very grateful for them. I wouldn't be here without them. But, you know, I think it's a business on all fronts. I'm happy to be here, but it's going to be fun to show what they missed, I guess, or whatever. But definitely added more fuel to the fire this summer, and now it's time to go all out."
Even though Sherwood played just 100 games with the Predators organization, he first felt the need to thank them for his short opportunity there.
But now that he has found a new home in Vancouver, it is just business as usual.
Over the 100 games for the Preds, he recorded 17 goals and 33 assists for 40 points, but made his money on the ice throwing big hits (337) that Canucks fans are now used to seeing.
Sherwood plays that physical in your face style of game that makes it difficult for opposing teams to set a tone.
That style of game is what got him noticed by the Vancouver Canucks, as he threw 33 hits in 6 games in their playoff series last season. They saw his presence physical effectiveness and ultimately decided to reward him with a 2-year contract.
The signing general manager Patrik Allvin has already proven to be a major success, along with his league leading 100 hits, he has 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points in 16 games.
