Patrik Allvin made it clear he was in the market for a top-six winger. Looking to put another capable forward on Elias Pettersson's wing, plenty of options will arise during the off-season.

While the Canucks will be looking to improve, their Manitoban rivals, the Jets could be looking to adopt certain changes. According to the NHL insider David Pagnotta, these changes could occur faster then what they'd hope for. Entering the last year of his deal, their very effective winger Nikolai Ehlers isn't willing to commit. The Jets have started shopping his name around.

The 9th overall pick in 2014, Ehlers has thrived with the Jets. Since his rookie season, Ehlers has registered or produce at a rate of 60 points per season at the very least. During the 2023-2024 season, he scored 25 goals and 61 points.

Currently earning an annual $6M, his 2024-2025 performances will be extremely determinant for his next deal. If the 28-year-old lights it up, he could be looking at a hefty raise on his next deal.

Producing at a similar rate, Tyler Toffoli was recently traded for a 2nd and 3rd Round Pick. Given that Ehlers is 3 years younger, and a lesser scorer, the rate to acquire his services could be very similar. If the Jets were to offer Ehlers for a similar acquisition price, is this a player Allvin should take into consideration for his top six?
