The Vancouver Canucks' prospect pool is fairly deep, but there's two names that stand out above them all, those being Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Tom Willander.
With the 2024-25 season quickly approaching, Elite Prospects relesed their top-100 NHL Drafted prospects list and for the second year in a row, Lekkerimaki and Willander made an appearance.
Jonathan Lekkerimaki comes in at 43rd on Elite Prospects' list, a pretty big rise when compared to his ranking last year which was 61st.
Lekkerimaki, a native of Tullinge, Sweden, had a strong 2023-24 campaign with Orebro HK in the SHL. The 20-year-old put up 31 points (19 goals, 12 assists) in 46 games and also had ten points in seven games at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship, earning MVP honours.
As for Tom Willander, he was ranked 60th by Elite Prospects, a drop of two from 2023 when he was 58th. Willander came over to North America ahead of the 2023-24 season and suited up for Boston University of the NCAA, where he registered 25 points (four goals, 21 assists) in 38 games.
