The announcement came earlier that the Canucks had inked the six foot six prospect Vilmer Alriksson. However, moments later, Patrik Allvin announced via the team's X page that five players had been relegated. Danila Klimovich, Tristan Neilsen, Chase Wouters and Ty Young are headed to Abbotsford as their training camp is just around the corner. Vilmer Alriksson will be reporting to his junior team, the Guelph Storm of the OHL:
Patrik Allvin and Rick Tocchet still have plenty of work ahead, the Canucks still need to close out their roster before the start of the season, but it's worth noting that some of the Canucks' top prospect are still around.
Jonathan Lekkerimaki, the Canucks' 2022 first round pick, scored his first of the preseason against the Flames has yet to be sent down to Abbotsford. The further we get into camp, the more confident he gets and he looks more and more like an NHLer.
Kirill Kudratsyev, the team's seventh round pick in 2022, is putting on a clinic at this year's camp and just might be this year's surprise. The Russian Defenseman is looking to start is professional career at only 20 years of age whether that's in Vancouver or in Abbotsford. Thus far, it's not looking like he's headed back to the OHL.
Aatu Raty, the centerman who joined the Canucks in the Bo Horvat trade, stated on multiple occasions that he felt ready for the NHL. Not only as his play been showing it, but Teddy Blueger's injury could be the what he needs to crack the team's top nine.
The Canucks still have three more games on their exhibition calendar and by the time we get to game seven, we should have the Canucks' final product on the ice.
