On Tuesday night, Quinn Hughes picked up two goals during Vancouver's 6-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, which was a frustrating game all around for the Canucks. Hughes' first goal was an absolute snipe from the point on the powerplay. Meanwhile his second was an incredible individual effort, carrying the puck at the top of Vegas' zone before firing it through a crowd and into the back of the net.
With his two goals on Tuesday night against Vegas, Hughes put himself into some pretty elite company in Vancouver Canucks franchise history. Hughes is now sitting at 325 points for his career, which ties him with Mattias Ohlund for second all-time in Vancouver Canucks history. Alex Edler currently occupies the top spot with 409 points, a mark that Quinn Hughes will certainly surpass at during the 2024-25 season.
What Hughes has done for the Vancouver Canucks organization can't be understated and when all is said and done, he will be remembered as the greatest defenceman in franchise history.
So far this season, Hughes has reached a new career-high in points, while also setting a new record for most points in a single season by a Canucks defenceman, passing his old total he set last season. In 75 games this season, Hughes has 84 points (15 goals, 69 assists), 34 penalty minutes and is a plus-38.
