They first started with the wingers, which saw the Canucks' Brock Boeser falling a few places short. Now with the centermen, there was no way the Canucks weren't going to have representation.
The analyst placed the two Canucks stars, Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, at their 10th and 11th spot, respectively. Miller and Pettersson combined for over 185 pts for a second straight season, and everybody was there to see it.
After a rookie season that awarded him the Calder Trophy for top rookie in the league, the exceptional Connor Bedard was granted the 13th spot on the list. As an 18-year-old, the Vancouver native scored 22 goals and collected 61 points in his first season with the big boys.
The Canucks, the Oilers and the Devils were the only three teams to feature centermen in the rankings. Pettersson (10th) and Miller (11th) for the Canucks, Connor McDavid (1st) and Leon Draisaitl (4th) for the Oilers, Jack Hughes (9th) and Nico Hischier (20th) for the Devils. Leaving the Canucks with the second-best ranking.
With Elias Pettersson's evergrowing game and his contract negotiations out of the way, will he up his game enough to break into the top 5? It's pretty evident now that the Canucks have one of the most muscular centermen lines in the NHL; now that they've added wingers to better support them, will it be enough to take them to the next level?
