A Vancouver Canucks prosect is reportedly on his way to the NHL after receiving his first call-up, with his debut potentially coming on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild.

Just over a year after signing his entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks, prospect Ty Mueller has plenty to be happy about, including a strong rookie campaign in the American Hockey League.
The transition from collegiate hockey to the professional ranks wasn't too difficult for Mueller and it looks like his play down in Abbotsford has caught the attention of Patrik Allvin and Vancouver's management staff.

Vancouver Canucks to reportedly call up Ty Mueller on Saturday

According to Tyson Cole of Canucks Army, Ty Mueller, who was scratched from Abbotsford's game on Friday against the Calgary Wranglers, is on his way to the National Hockey League.
Cole said that he's hearing the Vancouver Canucks will be calling Ty Mueller up ahead of their game on Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild.
"Hearing Ty Mueller, who was absent from Abbotsford's lineup tonight, will be getting called up to the NHL tomorrow. #Canucks" Cole said on X.
Dave Hall, a prospects reporter for Canucks Army, has been a big supporter of Ty Mueller over the years and gave his thoughts on the report that he'll be called up, saying that it's a good example of not writing a prospect off.
"Ty Mueller is a nice example of why you shouldn't write prospects off.

He goes from a double-entry fourth round pick to an NHL call-up in just two seasons.

He's a jack of all trades type player and has been a rock for Abbotsford as a rookie.

Massive kudos. #Canucks" Hall said.
Mueller, 22, was a fourth-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft following his second season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha in the NCAA.
The Edmonton native returned for a third season in the NCAA before signing with the Vancouver Canucks at the end of March last year and quickly became a fan favourite in Abbotsford.
In 62 games during his first professional season in the AHL, Mueller had 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists), 24 penalty minutes and was a plus-13.
We'll have to wait and see what the plan is for Ty Mueller and which line he'll play on, if his debut is indeed tonight against Minnesota, when Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet speaks to the media later today.
