The Winnipeg Jets will be without their head coach Rick Bowness for tonight's game against the New York Rangers and for an indefinite period of time following an announcement from the team.

On Tuesday morning, the Winnipeg Jets shared that Rick Bowness has undergone a minor medical procedure and won't coach tonight. They added that Bowness has return to Winnipeg for treatment and for now, Scott Arniel will take over on an interim basis.

"The Winnipeg Jets today announced that head coach Rick Bowness will not be on the bench for tonight's game due to a minor medical procedure. As a result, he has returned to Winnipeg for treatment. He will return to the team once his condition improves. Associate coach Scott Arniel is serving as the interim head coach until Rick returns to the team." The Jets said.

Bowness, a native of Moncton, New Brunswick, is in his second season behind the bench for the Winnipeg Jets after being hired in July of 2022. So far this season, Bowness has led the Jets to a 43-19-5 record through 67 games, which currently has them in first place in the Central Division, with Colorado and Dallas right on their tails.

Everyone in the hockey community is hoping that Bowness makes a speedy recovery from his procedure and that he's back behind the bench for the Winnipeg Jets as soon as he's allowed to.
