Jets' defenceman Brenden Dillon nearly loses his hand after nasty cut
Jets defenceman Brenden Dillon rushed off the ice with a significant cut on his hand after a scrum with the Avalanche's Brandon Duhaime.
The two players fell to the ice, and while the exact incident can't be seen on replay, Dillon's hand can be seen visibly gushing blood (close-up video shared at the end of the article - viewer discretion is advised) when they were separated Dillon rushed off the ice and down the tunnel.
While the incident looked scary, Dillon appears to have escaped severe repercussions, as head coach Rick Bowness said he is day to day with the hand injury.
Brandon Duhaime was asked about the incident after the game and called it a scary scene. He said he didn't know during the scrum that Dillon was cut.
The cut sustained by Dillon looks horrible, but thankfully, it sounds like he's avoided the worst.
