The team just made the announcement that they had agreed on a contract with the 20-year-old centerman Cooper Walker.
The OHL veteran signed a one-year AHL deal tying him to the Abbotsford Canucks:
''Super Cooper 🦸♂️
Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed forward Cooper Walker to a one-year AHL contract for the 2023-24 season.''
A 6'00'' and 174 pounds centerman, he registered 51 points in 66 games capping off a junior career during which he spent 4 years in Guelph.
An important fact, Cooper is indeed the son of Scott. Scott Walker was drafted by the Canucks in 1993 and took part in 197 games with the Vancouver franchise. Scott had renewed with the club in different coaching and developing roles up until 2021-2022.
