BREAKING: Important development on the Canucks' top NCAA prospect
The Canucks are currently hitting a new stride with their youth's development and the way things are going since the coaching change in Abbotsford definitely sets a better pace for the future.
The Canucks have taken a big step forward when GM Patrik Allvin took a trip to Boston to meet with the team's best NCAA Prospect Aidan McDonough. The Canucks have stated that they were very interested in signing the current captain of the NorthEastern University, they will lose his rights if they fail to sign him before Aug. 15th, 2023.
Allvin laid his plan for the young man and it seems that every member of the meeting was content with the approach and the future is bright for the two parties to come to an agreement.
Just like every other NCAA player, it is expected that McDonough will end the present NCAA season before signing his first pro contract. His season ends at the start of March and could be available when his team loses in the playoffs.
The 23-year-old forward was a 7th-round pick in 2019 and through 20 games he's managed 27 points. Could he potentially crack the Canucks lineup right away? Or is he bound to start his pro career in the minors?
