Craig Button played matchmaker and listed the top5 best fits he sees on the trade market.
He listed Erik Karlsson to the Buffalo Sabres at number five, Buffalo not only has tons of prospect, but they've also got the cap space. Adding Karlsson would make them a dangerous team.
Number four, he sends three-cup-winner and all-star captain Jonathan Toews to the Avalanches. Avs want to win, Toews wants to win and they desperately need a second line center, definitely make sense.
Now third, he sees no better fit the Canucks' captain Bo Horvat, than the Carolina Hurricanes. They have what it takes to satisfy the 'Nucks and they also have the room to sign him long term. Button believes that Horvat is exactly the kind of player Rod Brind'Amour would like in his line-up.
Patrick Kane is amongst the top and he believes he will reunite with the Breadman in New York. The Rangers have the room and they need another scoring winger.
Atop his list, Lawson Crouse to the Maple Leafs. Button compared this addition to the moves the Lightning made when they acquired Blake Coleman. Crouse would add size and grit to that roster, he's also proven to be quite the streaky scorer as well.
Button is surely setting the table up for quite the surprises while we approach the deadline. Even though these trades make sense, how many of these will actually materialize?
