Button was on Donnie and Dhalie today talking about the Horvat situation and he shared his point of view regarding the incoming trade.
The analyst went ahead and looked at what he thought were comparable trades. He reffered to the deal that sent Mark Stone from Ottawa to Vegas and the deal that sent Ryan O'Reilly to St. Louis. He's fairly confident that the Canucks can aim for a similar return, which is positive news for the team. ROR at that time, was producing at a similar offensive pace to Horvat's 2021-2022 season.
To Buffalo:
Tage Thompson
1st Round Pick
2nd Round Pick
Patrik Berglund
Vladimir Sobotka
To St. Louis:
Ryan O'reilly
He went on and added that the primary thing they should look for is quality over quantity, aim for top prospect and high picks then go on to draft and develop properly.
This a significant transaction for the Vancouver Canucks.
