It's already confirmed that the Leafs will encounter the Lightning in this year's playoff and the preview they gave tonight can only bring up the excitement. The Canucks traded away a fan-favorite in Luke Schenn, and the Leafs got exactly what they asked for. The veteran D-man was fantastic in tonight's heavily disputed win in which he managed a goal and a fight.
Schenn delivered a hard hit in the corner and he and his former teammates got going, let it be reminded that Pat Maroon is known to be a tough customer, as he weighs in at 237 and is 6'3'' high. Here's the hit that started it:
The play kept going, but the two wanted more and Schenn didn't even let Maroon lend a shot as he absolutely corrected him.
Not only was he a tone-setter with a spirited tilt, but Luke Schenn came up really big when he scored a goal early in the game.
Luke Schenn has proven to be a really hard opponent to play against, he's also proven to be a heck of a leader with the Canucks but also with the Leafs. The Canucks are in a tough spot salary cap-wise, but Schenn has already pointed out that he loved Vancouver and so does his family. Should the Canucks look to reunite with the beloved veteran when comes free-agency?
