The Canucks were beaten in their home and for a rare occurrence since Rick Tocchet came in, the team has lost two in a row.

Elias Pettersson had the opportunity to tie the franchise record for most games with at least a point and his sequence stopped tonight. The Canucks started the game nicely getting the first tally with a Brock Boeser goal, the Kings then retaliated 4 times and never gave the Canucks an inch back

J.T. Miller stood before the press and stated what he thought was the reason for the team's latest setback:

''It doesn't feel like we've been hard enough to play against. A little soft»

A few minutes later, Tocchet could only agree with the superstar's statement:

The main objective when Tocchet came in was to build an identity for themselves and hold the players accountable. Now that the team has done that nicely, it's time they learn to be consistent and live by their identity.

The Jets managed a 6-0 win against the Devils, which mathematically eliminated the Nucks from playoff contention. Moving forward, a loss only increases the Canucks odds at Connor Bedard. At this point though, the Canucks can't lose, they either win or they learn!
