LATEST | Tocchet comments Boeser's status and things may be turning
Rick Tocchet hasn't been in Vancouver long, but the effects of his takeover are starting to show.
Brock Boeser has been headlining many of our articles since Allvin granted his agent the rights to talk to other GMs in order to facilitate a trade. Tocchet was once again asked to comment and the winger's recent play, but for once he had a shred of positivity in his speech.
Tocchet surely has a growing relationship with Boeser, he wasn't shy to openly state that he needed to get better but he opened up on the possibility of him having a change of heart:
"Tocchet had alot of positive things to say about Boeser, but added he's been inconsistent & needs to get in on the forecheck. Talked about him potentially having a 'change of heart' about staying with #Canucks."
He stated that obviously Boeser had to improve and go back to the standard that got him the deal he's currently on. Whether it'd be in Vancouver or somewhere else. Though not once this year was it brought up that Boeser might be considering a change of heart. Tocchet has definitely grown every players intensity.
Boeser was once considered as the future of the franchise alongside
Elias Pettersson, if he were to change his mind and willingly stay with the Canucks that would definitely increase the club's playoff odds.
Boeser is currently on pace for 16 goals on the season, which would be the first time he failed to reach the 20-goal mark.
