LATEST | Tocchet makes a comment on Miller that truly reveals what kind of a person and player he is
J.T. Miller has been the reason for lots of headlines this season. The Canucks' star forward was rumored to be the main reason for the coaching change since the management was looking for someone that would hold him accountable.
So far, nobody can argue the fact that Miller has been a thriving force since Tocchet took over the bench in Vancouver. While matched we Elias Pettersson he's been fired on the penalty kill and last night he scored this OT beauty that gave the Nucks the win against the Ducks:
Rick Tocchet was then asked to comment on Miller's recent performances and his statement clearly reveals a lot about what he brings to the table:
''Millsy had two great shots. That overtime winner was a bullet. At morning skate today, I had to kick him off the ice. He must've shot 75 pucks today. Hard work pays off''
Whether the latest reports are true or not, a guy that's willing to work his ass off, even in a season that's as good as gone. That shows true passion and will to develop. He surely is a guy that leaves his emotions on the ice, for better and for worse, but there's no denying the fact that there's been a major development on his part since the infamous Rick Tocchet took over the team.
Miller is now up to 58 points after 63 games this year, although it may not be what we were hoping for after the career-high 99 points he displayed last season, you can't call that a bad season.
