Adam Fantilli, one of the top prospects for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, recently spoke with Steven Ellis of Daily Faceoff and revealed which player he thinks could be a potential steal later this month in Nashville.

The player Fantilli is referring to is his University of Michigan teammate Gavin Brindley, who had a solid freshman year, recording 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) in 41 games.

"Getting to play with him this year was absolutely amazing," Fantilli said. "His compete level and his brain and how much he loves the game is phenomenal. I always say he's the best locker room guy I've ever played with."

Brindley and Fantilli are very familiar with each other outside of being teammates at the University of Michigan. The duo played against each other for two seasons in the USHL while Brindley was with the Tri-City Storm and Fantilli was with the Chicago Steel.

In their final ranking, NHL Central Scouting has Gavin Brindley at 23rd among North American skaters, which means he'll likely go in the middle of the second round. Brindley would be a fantastic addition to the Canucks' prospect pool, but the team doesn't have a second-round pick, as it was dealt to Detroit in the Filip Hronek deal.

If Allvin and the Canucks really want to select Gavin Brindley, they may need to make a trade to get into the mid-to-late second round, and they certainly have the assets to do so. After they select 11th overall, the Canucks don't have another pick until 75th overall.
