BREAKING | NHL Player Safety issues two-game suspension for dirty hit to the head
Connor Clifton has been suspended two games for an illegal hit to the head on Devils player Nico Hischier.
The play happened in Sabres's 5-4 loss to the Devils on Friday night. Hischier went to get the puck along the half wall and was met by Clifton, who laid a hit square to Hischier's head.
The play would be reviewed, and Clifton would be ejected for his hit. Hischier would leave the game and not return for what Devils head coach, Lindy Ruff, said were "precautionary reasons."
Today, Ruff announced that Hischier would not play tomorrow's game against the Wild.
Clifton will not be in the line-up for the Sabres as they take on the Avalanche on Sunday.
