BREAKING | Big news emerges regarding Ilya Mikheyev's status next season
Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev was limited to only 46 games in his first season with the organization due to an ACL issue that required surgery.
According to CHEK TV's Rick Dhaliwal, Mikheyev has begun skating for the first time since going under the knife earlier this year. His agent Dan Milstein says that he expects his client to be ready to go for the 2023-24 season.
"We expect Ilya to be ready for the 2023-24 season." Milstein said.
Mikheyev, a native of Omsk, Russia has three years remaining on his contract with the Canucks with an average annual value of $4.75 million. In those 46 games last season, he put up 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists), two penalty minutes and was a plus-three.
It'll be interesting to see how Mikheyev does during training camp and in pre-season games in September, which will be his first game action in nine months.
