LATEST | Trevor Linden makes his comments on the team's official logo
The Vancouver Canucks have had their fair share of unique and bold uniforms over the course of their 53-year history in the National Hockey League.
They started out by wearing blue/green/white jerseys between 1970 and 1978 before going into an era that saw the team don different styles beginning with the 'V' and moving into the Skate uniforms from 1978 and 1997.
Since 1997, the Canucks have used their primary Orca logo on the front of their uniforms, with slight alterations and colour changes over the last 26 years.
During a recent radio interview on Sportsnet, former Vancouver Canucks captain and Team President Trevor Linden shared which uniforms he would like to see the team wear.
"I think the stick-in-rink is the iconic logo of the Vancouver Canucks. If I owned the team, which I don't, that should be the one for me. That's my personal opinion," Linden said.
He added, "That logo is timeless. It's simple. When I worked there I was like, 'hey, this should never change. We should go back to where it started and it should never change again.' We can have fun with third jerseys and that sort of thing but it should be the stick-in-rink."
The Canucks have brought back the 'Stick in the Rink' on a few occasions over the last 17 years. In the 2006-07 season, a year before their rebrand back to blue and green, the Canucks wore a blue and green 'Stick in the Rink' jersey as their alternate.
Then during the 2010-11 season, for their 40th anniversary, the Canucks wore a white version of the 'Stick in the Rink' jerseys, before reverting back to a blue and green version, with different striping, as an alternate from 2019 to 2022.
