Now that the Vancouver Canucks have wrapped up the signing of Swedish forward Elias Pettersson, they can turn their attention to another big name on the roster that'll need a new contract this summer - Filip Hronek.

Hronek started the year strong playing with captain Quinn Hughes and while he's still playing some solid hockey at the moment, he hasn't been as great as he was at the beginning of the season. Nevertheless, it's widely expected that Hronek could fetch as much as $8 million per season on his next contract.

During Tuesday's edition of Donnie and Dhali, Rick Dhaliwal says that he think Filip Hronek and his camp with use Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Mikhail Sergachev as a comparable when negotiating his new contract. Sergachev signed an eight-year extension with the Lightning in the summer of 2022 and is making $8.5 million per season.

"Dhaliwal thinks Hronek's camp could use Sergachev as a comparable.

He signed for 8.5 mill per year.

Points per game are basically the same.

@DonnieandDhali"

Hronek, who is one year older than Sergachev, will likely be looking long-term on his next contract, potentially in the seven to eight-year range. Over the course of their respective careers so far, Hronek is averaging 0.53 points-per-game, while Sergachev is sitting at 0.54, so it's very close in that category.

The Hradec Kralove, Czechia native has appeared in 66 games for the Canucks this season where he's put up 45 points (five goals, 40 assists), 36 penalty minutes and is a plus-34.
