Rick Tocchet Shares Exciting News Regarding Vancouver Canucks Star Forward Brock Boeser
Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet shares exciting injury update on star forward Brock Boeser.
As the Vancouver Canucks prepare for their upcoming 6-game road trip which kicks off this upcoming Saturday against the Ottawa Senators, Rick Tocchet has provided an update on the health of Brock Boeser
A quarter of the way into the NHL season, the Canucks have run into may obstacles that are holding them back from reaching their full potential.
One might say that all team go through this type of hardship, but with the recent announcement of J.T. Miller leaving the team for personal reasons, it seems the team is going through it a little harder than most.
"Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin announced today that forward JT Miller be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons."
With Miller out, he now joins Derek Forbort, Thatcher Demko and Brock Boeser, but its appears Boeser might be the one to come back sooner rather than later.
Brock Boeser Injury Update by Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet
Brock Boeser has been out with a significant injury since November 7th when the Canucks faced off against the Los Angeles Kings.
Kings Forward Tanner Jeannot delivered an illegal and dangerous hit to the head of Brock Boeser, making him leave the game and miss time indefinitely.
With all the chatter around when Brock Boeser is expected to return the most recent and encouraging update has been delivered by head coach Rick Tocchet.
Tocchet has released that Boeser will most probably be traveling with the team on their upcoming east coast road trip, but has not been cleared just yet.
"I think (Brock's) coming on the trip. I haven't talked to the medical staff yet. We have a meeting after this (media session), to decide if he's going. But whether he stays back to skate or not, we still have to talk about that because we have (Jason Krog) our skills coach. If he doesn't play on this trip obviously he won't come, but we'll see how it goes day-to-day."
After that announcement yesterday, It is now confirmed that Brock Boeser will be joining the team on their road trip.
Additionally, when the Canucks announced today that prospect Jonathan Lekkerimäki has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL), it sparked rumors that this would be to make room for Boeser.
Obviously, nothing is confirmed, but we would expect to see him suit up in one of the later games of the road trip.
