The OHL's trade deadline is right around the corner and the Ottawa 67's have caused quite the consternation around the league after trading for the Ducks' 1st pick in the 2022 Draft Pavel Mintyukov.

After announcing a trade regarding Shane Wright last night and the 67's struck big adding one of the OHL's top defensemen for nothing less than 9 picks. Mintyukov's been lighting up the OHL, the defenseman led the Saginaw Spirit with 54 points in only 37 games so far this season. He could potentially hit the 100 points barrier as a defenseman.

In return for their star defenseman Saginaw receives a hefty payout composed of 9 picks (3x 2nd, 4x 3rd, 2 4th) in the next 3 years. The 67's are currently atop the OHL's ranking with an impressive 28-6-1-1 record, adding Mintyukov will definitely make a splash and help them towards a steep playoff run.

Mintyukov was selected 10th overall by the Ducks in the latest NHL draft after he cumulated 62 points in 67 games in 2021-2022. Fait to say his development's heading the right way, up to this day, he is viewed as the potential left-handed defenseman that will form the top pairing with Jamie Drysdale.

As a 2003-late-born, Mintyukov will most likely be playing in the AHL next year if he doesn't crack the Ducks' top6.
