HORRIFIC SCENE | Nashville's Matt Duchene lost piece of his finger blocking a shot (video)
Just over a week ago, Nashville Predators forward Matt Duchene suffered a hand injury that will keep him out week-to-week after blocking a shot by his own teammate.
It remains unclear as to when Duchene may return to the Predators' lineup, but on Sunday, the extent of his injury was revealed and it's safe to say, you may cringe when reading this.
According to Darren Pang, Duchene lost the tip of his finger on the blocked shot during their game on March 26th against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Duchene is having a bit of a down year, especially when compared to his career-high of 86 points last season, but he was still a key piece in keeping the Predators in the Western Conference wild card race. If the Predators are able to make the playoffs, getting Duchene back will be massive if they hope to have any success as they look to return to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2017.
