The Philadelphia Flyers' disastrous campaign came to an end on Thursday night and today, the team held their season-ending media availability, with defenceman Tony DeAngelo expressing his frustration with former Canucks Head Coach John Tortorella.

"My whole life, I've wanted to be a Flyer, and now I am, so I don't take it for granted at all," DeAngelo said. "It's something that means a lot to me so I'm not gonna let any relationship stuff get in the way.

"He's the coach of the team, so you've gotta respect that, and I respect what he does. Do I agree with it, what happened in the last five games? Absolutely not. I think it's ridiculous that I didn't play in the last five."

DeAngelo last played for the Flyers during April 4th's loss to the St. Louis Blues and since then, has found himself up in the press box watching his team's final five games of the regular season.

Earlier in the season, Tortorella grew frustrated with DeAngelo's play off the puck and said they needed to work with him to fix his defensive game.

Despite being in the press box for the final five games, DeAngelo plans to be back in Philadelphia next season and is under contract at an AAV of $5 million, but will become an unrestricted free agent in July 2024.
