The Canucks hosted the Kraken last night and yet again they struggled to impose their style suffering another loss. The Canucks have now lost their last 4 outings and Tocchet came out strongly about the team's performance. The result was not the issue as much as the effort that came behind it.

''Maybe guys are looking at the end of the season. It looked like some guys were just not into it. You can't afford not to be into it. You're trying for your NHL lives to play in the league.''

Tocchet clearly wasn't satisfied with the team's effort and did not hold back when he was asked to comment on it. The team's head coach pointed out that this sort of effort was unacceptable especially after they had just been on a day-off. He specified that professionals need to be able to maintain their energy levels even after days off, he even suggested that he could do some more baby sitting if the players couldn't handle it by themselves.

»Maybe guys are looking at the end of the season. It looked like some guys were just not into it. You can't afford not to be into it. You're trying for your NHL lives to play in the league»

Tocchet was also asked to comment on Miller's behaviour when he left the bench early and specified what the superstar forward needed to work on:

''think Millsy was frustrated because he missed that breakaway, I guess, I don't know. I didn't ask him. But yeah, body language is something that you can control. I thought we've been getting better at it but it's not going to creep back in. It won't, I'm not going to allow it because body language is ... it's not mental toughness. It's weak-minded people when you have body language like that.''

Miller's attitude on the cameras had definitely changed since Tocchet came in. Missing a golden opportunity like Miller did on that breakaway surely is enough to piss a player off, however a high-end player like J.T. Miller needs to be stronger mentally.
