Even though a high quantity of talks have been reported, not much has happened on the trade market, mainly because of the salary cap restriction and the value of cap space. Pierre Lebrun made quite the predictions ahead of this year's deadline.
1. Chychrun to the Kings
He's convinced that the Kings will take a swing at the Coyotes defenseman. Their pipeline is filled on the right side and they have an opportunity to acquire a top defenseman that could take on Drew Doughty's job.
2. Kane to the Rangers
The Rangers have two first round picks (one is conditional) and Kane has a full NMC making him the sole controller of his next destination. Kane reunion with Panarin, a man that loves a good show would certainly fit-in nicely on Broadway.
3. Schenn to the Bruins
Luke Schenn is a proven experienced d-man, two Cups under his belt already and a cheap $850K AAV. He reports that the Bruins and the Canucks have already talked about moving the hard-hitting defenseman, Lebrun also states that he'd be a perfect fit to the Bruins and would definitely be a fan favorite upon his arrival.
4. Monahan to the Avalanche
He believes Bo Horvat would be the ideal target, but based on where the Avs are in the standings he doesn't think they'll want to jeopardize their future and pay the big bucks for the Canucks' center. Sean Monahan is, therefore, a much cheaper alternative to the Avs.
He also listed John Klingberg to the Kraken, the Ducks would probably consider adding a second round pick due to Klingberg's poor performances. He also predicted that the Leafs would acquire Ryan O'Reilly, perfect acquisition experience-wise for Toronto. ROR would only be made available if the Blues gave up on their season, which isn't the case as of right now.
Those are certainly trades that would change the face of the NHL. Out of all these options, which trade needs to happen?
