Tanner Pearson's been headlining many stories this year, not because of his performances on the ice. The veteran winger was limited to 14 outings and 5 points this season due to an injury he suffered in early November 2022.

Rick Dhaliwal gave an update on his status earlier today. The NHLPA's boss Marty Walsh was on the show yesterday. He broke his hand in November, the expected timeline was 4 weeks, and now the latest reports on his health aren't positive:

''We are not in month 8, 7 surgeries later, still no idea if he'll ever play the game of hockey again. I'm told they're taking it day by day, still up in the air, too early to tell no timeframe.''

As Dhaliwal stated, he's now back home in Ontario rehabbing in hopes of fully recovering. The insider reiterated that this was a situation unlike anything he had ever seen in 27 years of covering the team.

Today, a switch has been made in the thinking where the ongoing belief is that this may be the end of his career. As noted by Rick Dhaliwal, Pearson is a very well-liked player in Vancouver's dressing room. This is an extremely sad turn of events for the 30-year-old veteran.
